600th Anniversary of Lama Tsongkhapa
7 Nov. 2019, Gelug Nepal observed 600th anniversary of Lama Tsongkhapa’s Parinirvana Day. This occasion would be one of the most important events for all Tibetan Buddhist tradition follower, not to mentioned about all Gelugpas. To celebrate this very important occasion Gelug Nepal decided to hold following three different kind of Programs:
- contest of paper presentation on Prajana paramita among the students of Gelug Monastery of Nepal. Venue: Sherlkar Monastery, Bouddha.
- thought sharing program on the topic of “Responsibility of Nepali Buddhist in 21st Century” in the presence of Kyabje Thangu Rinpoche and Shree Yogesh Kumar Bhatarai a minister of Tourism and other Delegates from Nepal Govt. Venue: Hyatt Regency Hotel
- Grant Guru puja on actual date of Lama Tsongkhapa’s Parinirvan Day which fall on 25th of 9th month of Tibetan Lunar Calendar. Venue: Samtenling Monastery, Bouddha.
10th JangGuncho of Nepal Concluded
28 Oct. 2019, 10th Jang Gunchoe of annual winter debate session that organized by Gelug Nepal concluded by observing a grand closing ceremony at Dupthop monastery at Swyambhu.
The event was held in the presence of Kyabje Shree Chusang Rinpoche and The reincarnation of Drubtop Rinpoche. Chief guest Chubsang Rinpoche delivered his insight full speech followed by the thanksgiving speech by Geshe Tashi Sherab the president of Nepal Gelug Association. On the behalf of Association we would like to extend our Thanks to Drubtop Monastery and entire team who made this Debate season successful. We also like to thanks all the teachers (Geshe las) who assist all the students tirelessly during this two weeks long JanGunchoe.
